Whitewater Resort is a laid-back, low-profile resort that has begun to gain notoriety due to its deep powder and majority of advanced and expert terrain.

The resort is situated in the Ymir bowl beneath the Ymir Mountain, with 4 chairlifts that allow skiers to reach a number of ridges. It is renowned for its steep runs, tree skiing, chutes and some of the best gladed skiing you can find. It has a higher percentage of advanced and expert terrain (62%) and with 12 metres of snow annually, its no wonder that this predominately community ski resort is attracting backcountry skiers and powder lovers.

Hidden Gem Off the Beaten Path

Whitewater Resort is located about 20 minues from the friendly town of Nelson, British Columbia. The resort offers a friendly atmosphere, and Nelson is a relaxed but cosmopolitan ski town with a number of great bars and restaurants and over 350 heritage bulidings to be seen!
 
As well as having fantastic skiing in the area, the town of Nelson has plenty more to do as well, such as visiting local breweries, checking out the local museum and galleries and relaxing in the Ainswroth Hot Springs. The town also has an annual winter carnival to kick off the season and is a wonderful way to experience the vibrant town.

How do I get there?

Whitewater Resort is located 20 minutes outside of the town of Nelson in British Columbia. We recommend flying into Kelowna, which is a 4hr drive from Nelson, or Calgary is a 7hr drive.
